Scholars, journalists forge stronger ties at 4th Sino-U.S. Media Forum
We pulled it off again! For the fourth time, we assembled Peking University and University of Hawaiʻi Mānoa scholars and journalists in a room at the East-West Center where they found some common ground. We shared issues in digital and social media that are affecting the U.S.-China relationship.
And, we also introduced our Chinese guests to the culture of Hawaiʻi, where they went to "talk story" with a Hawaiian student at the
kā papa loʻi o Kanewai. They also listened to a presentation by Heather Haunani Giugni of ʻUlu ʻUlu moving image archive that is preserving memories of Hawaiʻiʻs history. Co-sponsors were the UHM College of Social Sciences, School of Communications, Peking University School of Journalism and Communication, and the East-West Center.
